Minute Basketball: GIVEAWAY

We got a little overexcited over here at Minute Basketball and got thinking about a giveaway. The more we thought about it, the more excited we got. In general, support for writers you enjoy goes unreturned, other than through reading their work; we wanted to offer a real, physical item in return. So what could we give? After much thought, we decided upon a poster featuring some of the most exciting characters in the NBA — about whom we’ve also written in great detail in past Minute Basketball releases.

So we got in touch with an incredible artist and friend, Chris Chipak, and commissioned a piece. With every passing sketch and message and discussion, the thrill grew. If you haven’t encountered Chris’ work before this, you need to check him out.

Honestly, we’ve been itching to announce this for a while. And it’s finally time! The piece contains stars like Kyle Lowry, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and Dame Lillard, cast as characters like the friendly sheriff, the Man in Black, and the crafty gambler. Of course, gunslingers, the lot of them. Sketch by sketch, the piece came together.

To our lovely readers, new and old, we want to show our thanks and appreciation!

This will be a standard giveaway, wherein everyone who is subscribed to Minute Basketball has their name entered into a draw to win the 16” by 20” original poster. But why stop there, we thought, and figured we’d offer a second and third prize as well. Those prizes are custom t-shirts with a .jpg version of the poster emblazoned loudly and proudly on the front. (The initial idea to make the shirts was because we wanted them for ourselves, but we can throw in a few more for those who feel the same way. Get in touch with one of us to inquire, and if you do, we’ll make a few extra to sell.)

We’ll announce the winners in approximately eight days, just before the start of the NBA Finals. So don’t wait if you want to enter your name.

That’s the news, and we’re pretty jazzed about it. To be honest, once we saw the finished piece we thought about cancelling the whole thing, commissioning a second one, and just keeping them for ourselves. But that would make us bad people, and besides, half of our excitement was sharing this with everyone who’s supported and enjoyed our work.
